THE FORGE TEAM

Dennis Opolentisima is a church planter in the City of Rochester with a deep passion for ministry and community transformation. He has pastored two congregations—serving as Associate Pastor at Harvest Bible Chapel (now Beacon Hill) for four years and as Senior Pastor at Emmanuel Christian Community Church for two years. Before entering full-time ministry, he spent five years as a case manager at Mission Solano, a local homeless shelter, helping individuals rebuild their lives.
Dennis holds a Bachelor of Theology from seminary and a certificate in Human Services. An amateur athlete, he competes in triathlons and combat sports (Muay Thai/kickboxing), and counts being a husband and father as his greatest blessing.
Life, however, was not always marked by success. As a former gang member, addict, and alcoholic, Dennis knows firsthand the struggles of street life. In 2007, he was incarcerated for six months on a gun charge. During that time, he began attending regular Bible studies—an experience that transformed his life and set him on a new path.
Believing strongly that access to mentors and positive after-school programs could have spared him years of hardship, Dennis is committed to creating that opportunity for today’s youth. He views martial arts as more than fighting—it is a way of life through which young people can grow in every aspect of life: head, heart, and hands.
This vision is now taking shape through a new nonprofit Muay Thai program for youth in Rochester’s underserved neighborhoods. The mission is simple yet powerful: build more than fighters—raise leaders. Using Muay Thai as a platform, the program teaches discipline, accountability, self-respect, and purpose.
In a city facing rising youth violence, growing mental health challenges, and limited extracurricular options in its inner neighborhoods, this initiative offers a structured, positive outlet for young people to channel their energy, discover community, and step into their God-given potential.
